“ Best cakes in the East Bay! When I'm over that way, always tempted to stop in for a treat. Excellent around the holidays. ”
“ There is no way to explain how incredible this gem is. Every single cake has a different style, texture, and filling, which requires so many different styles of baking, and they do them all to perfection every single time. When I look at online ordering their selection is smaller than it used to be. I'm not sure if this changes on a weekly basis, but I hope they continue to have some of my favorites from time to time. ”
“ Incomparable flourless chocolate cake. What more is there to say? Though they often sell out, so you have to preorder or come early! ”
“ The fact that they are named after "crixa", a fictional word from Richard Adams - Watership Down should say it all. This bakery has a lot of hype and I think it is all deserved. Their pumpkin pie has been described as the best in the Bay Area. I'll add it's the best I've had in my life. Full of flavor with subtle sweetness. Light crust. Perfect texture to the filling. The Pavé Vergiate or Flourless chocolate cake is without comparison. It packs a delicious punch but somehow remains very light, fluffy, and nuanced in flavor. A huge hit! ”
“ Best pie in the world. Crust is phenomenal, and the fruit is cooked to perfection. The store's vibe is really cute as well, with nice music and a rustic look. Not sure about all the comments on the service here but food came out fast and portions were great. My dad said this inspired his pie addiction. ”
“ They're open Wednesday-Saturday from 11:30am-3pm. I want to get that good at something where I can have those hours. Whenever I see a place that never closes, it just sounds desperate. Like a Jack in the Box that is always open is so sad. Maybe Jack in the Box doesn't feel confident enough in their food to only be open from 11:30am-3pm on Wednesday-Saturday. They'd probably lose majority of their business. I've only been to Jack in the Box past midnight and I've always regretted going. I'm convinced Jack in the Box is successful through the mistakes and personal misjudgments of people. Anyway, the ginger cake was absolutely delicious here and it was even better knowing I could only get it for a limited time. ”
